Jordanian companies are governed by Companies Law No. 22 of 1997, as significantly amended in 2017.

Company Types

  • General Partnership: unlimited joint liability.
  • Limited Partnership: mixed liability.
  • LLC: most common; limited liability, no minimum capital since 2017.
  • Public Shareholding: listed on Amman Stock Exchange.
  • Private Shareholding: 2-50 shareholders, not publicly listed.

Incorporation Steps

Choose a name, draft articles of incorporation, notarize, open bank account, register at Ministry of Industry and Trade, obtain tax number, and get municipal licenses.
