The landlord-tenant relationship in Jordan is governed by Law No. 11 of 1994 and the Civil Code.
Tenant Rights
Tenants have rights to quiet enjoyment, ordinary maintenance, rent stability during contract term, legal defense against eviction, and security deposit return.
Grounds for Eviction
Eviction requires: non-payment of rent after formal demand, use contrary to agreed purpose, unauthorized modifications, subletting without permission, lease expiry, demolition and rebuilding, or documented personal need.
